Just a little digger…

For just shy of 2 weeks our little community has seen a HUGE improvement, but you may have missed it. Why, you ask? Because this HUGE improvement has occurred BELOW GRADE at the intersection of Reidel Road and John’s Hopkins Road. The Crofton Downs Stormwater Management Pond is maintained in partnership with Anne Arundel County Stormwater Infrastructure Program and the Crofton Downs HOA.

The 2.9 acre area is part of the commonly held deed of the Crofton Downs HOA and is therefore enjoyed as open space by our community. In the warmer months it is not unusual to see families and children playing in the open space. The Anne Arundel County Stormwater Infrastructure Program maintains the grading and function of the space, while the CDHOA maintains the appearance of the space through frequent cleanups and landscaping.

This February brought the County’s clean-up team out and they handled a number of issues. The swale was completely re-dug and repaired with the dirt placed back upon the hill and regraded. The fallen pine tree on John’s Hopkins Road was removed and recycled. The two (2) remaining dead trees on the Reidel Road side of the property were removed for precaution at the request of the CDHOA after evaluation.
